Indie Designers

Heart Rummage was created in Seattle by Gia Bahm at Nation/I-Spy in November 2001. Seven years and several leaders later, IHR was restructured, rebranded, and reborn as Seattle's most vibrant, ongoing, monthly indie craft event. IHR provides a platform for all up-and-coming designers who want to show new, edgy and dynamic work.
Every month you'll find 35 hard-working designers and crafters presenting stylish pieces with which to accessorize or inspire a whole outfit. When dropped by one weekend, we found four designers we thought you should know about!

The TC Leathercraft line is inspired by movies like Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, Tammy Clammer focuses on leather masks and cuffs that bring that surreal feeling to any outfit. She uses all leather materials and repurposes scraps to make the coffee corset sleeves and bookmarks. With the bookmarks, she uses action words to enhance the excitement of the piece, like: "Shriek/Spider Charm". Clammer started out this craft as a hobby, making Western-style belts for her son.

Paddy Litvak Jewelry, created by a Lithuanian-Jewish designer named Naomi Kuritzky Regan, uses sterling silver, gems and crystals to create pieces using bead and wire, with metal and resin on the horizon. Regan worked for the Museum Company and was around jewelry all the time, so she thought, "I can do this!" From there, she went to bead stores and took classes. Regan uses a Sidekick to write down ideas that come throughout the day, whether those ideas come from a trip to the coast or magazines. She never copies other artists, but does take a new spin on techniques. Her favorite gems are rubies and garnet, but she's starting to use more amber to represent her Baltic side.
Iím starting to use more amber to represent my Baltic side.
