Jon Saxx, born Jonathan Ross, was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. The former engineer turned musician began his career by accepting a position in Detroit as a Quality Control Engineer for General Motors. Jon graduated from Miami University in Oxford,Ohio with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. After spending a few years in Detroit, he was offered a new position in Miami, Florida as a New Product Development Engineer for medical giant, Johnson & Johnson.

While Jon loved working in the field of engineering, music has always been his first love and his passion. The dwindling economy had an unexpected hand in Jon’s future. He was shortly laid off from his corporate job as the company downsized during the recent major recession. For Jon, the layoff has been a blessing in disguise. Armed with a severance package and his saxophones, Jon decided to pursue his passion and become a full-time musician.
