Sue Stemp: Forever Cool |
![]() |
![]() Present Day: Stemp’s good friend Kate Moss in one of her yellow frocks for her thirtieth birthday. And Lee (Alexander) McQueen, another pal, who has consulted Stemp for design advice. For those who bought McQueen’s skulls, Stemp is a BIG ADVOCATE of prints. A graduate in fashion from the University of East London, Stemp, inspired by Twenties Deco-Cubist artist Eduard Benedictus, experimented with colorful swirls and geometrics for the Fall 2007 collection. In London at 18, I started fashion school. I used to wear things I‘d made mixed with vintage. Either Vivienne Westwood or Galliano (I had a lot of Galliano in my wardrobe at one point that I bought for next to nothing at his first bankruptcy sale). I specifically loved one look I wore quite often… a white fur headband, a black Westwood bustier, hot pants, footless opaque tights and a purple pair of ‘70’s cork mules. |
