Claire Pettibone

Los Angeles designer Claire Pettibone sites Paris in the 1920's, Victorian lingerie, and the icon of "woman" throughout history as inspiration for her collection of couture bridal gowns. The gowns have a vintage quality, but the references are combined in a way that is truly modern. "The silhouettes are more contemporary than a traditional bridal gown, but the fabrics I work with are very feminine and elaborate so the dress still has all the drama that a bridal gown should have" says Pettibone who works exclusively with couture European embroideries and laces. She finds a perfect balance of opulence and understatement that is fast becoming a favorite of LA's celebrities and socialites.
