Liise Wyatt Cheney grew up on the Maine coast before attending Walnut Hill School in Natick, Massachusetts for dance and visual art. She went on to study textiles, ceramics and fashion at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she earned her BFA. While designing her own wedding dress in 2005, she decided to pursue fashion design professionally. Liise subsequently attended the New York Fashion Academy in Seattle, Washington, developing the wide range of technical skills necessary to execute her designs.
She placed in the top five in Seamless In Seattle, a Project Runway-inspired contest for emerging designers.
