She began her academic career at Miami Dade Community College, she then moved on to Broward Community College, Barry University and finally Nova Southeastern University. As a visual artist, Bege was featured a few times in the Sun Sentinel. And she was part of a group of artists that had studios at Oceanwalk in Hollywood and sometimes appeared in Oceanwalk magazine. She was also featured in Southern Women and in several city papers writing reviews of art shows.
