Michael Volkar

"To me, fashion is artwork. And my designs can turn a person into a walking art gallery..."

Michael Benjamin Volkar grew up in a very small town called Johnstown in Pennsylvania. Surrounded by Amish country, grew up by the woods and managed to become a designer somehow.

Volkar is a Cum Laude graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Los Angeles, California with an Associate of Arts Degree in Fashion Design as well as a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts/Fashion Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He also attended Pratt Institute for pre-college courses in Fashion Design.

Michael's experience includes personal designer for Actor, Vincent De Paul, designer for motion picture "Crabs in a Barrel" where several of his designs were featured in the movie including avant-garde pieces, dresses and handbags all designed, sewn and created by the talented designer. He has also worked on Bravo's The Fashion Show as a design assistant to Merlin Castell. And worked as personal tailor for R & B recording artist, Faith Evans.

I loved Taraji P. Henson as well. She looked flawless from head to toe. I also liked Jaimie Alexander, it was different and fun. What was Heidi thinking? Her dress was definitely my least favorite.
Hey what was your favorite and least favorite dresses from the Emmy's? One of my favorites was Taraji P. Henson and I'm sorry but Heidi Klum's dress was a hot mess!
And if you really want to be dapper in your suit, match the tie to a handkerchief. Your shirt can also be a bold color or print. Have fun with your outfits!
I think the tie is the one place the man can show some individuality and style, so I would say go ahead an wear vibrant colors or fun, funky prints, whatever. I think it would be fun!
