Designer and fashionista Rachel Roy likes to mix it up. After being inspired by the 1930s and getting ideas from the movie The Lover, Roy’s spring 2012 collection is a fusion of romantic minimalism and feminine menswear. With a light and airy look, loose draping and fit, her collection of creams and whites, black and nude prints and hints of color will make any woman look classic yet trendy and modern.

After freelance work styling magazine shoots and music videos, Rachel Roy became an intern at rapper, producer Jay-Z’s company Rocawear. She quickly worked her way up to the position of Creative Director and before she knew it, Roy was ready to branch out on her own. In 2005, ‘Rachel Roy’ was launched with iconic and versatile pieces like the trench dress, dinner blouse and the day-to-night dress. Four years later Roy expanded her label to add the line ‘Rachel Rachel Roy’; a ready-to-wear lower priced diffusion line which includes sportswear, footwear, handbags and jewelry.
