merican InterContinental University was founded in 1970 and offers a wide range of degree programs including Fashion Marketing and Design. The degree program was designed to prepare students for careers ranging from Retail Buyer, to Store Manager to Technical Designer. Topics addressed in this degree program include patternmaking, sketching and illustration, and computer-aided design. On the Marketing side, students learn fashion business practices, trend forecasting, retail buying, product development and the principles of global retailing.

Each year the students produce a fashion show that they control from production to presentation to share their designs with fellow students and the public. MyCloset.com had the opportunity to attend the most recent fashion show, En Vogue, held at the prestigious Hyatt Regency Hotel and Spa located in beautiful Weston, Florida. Each designer was very talented and designs ranged from sportswear and evening wear to avante garde futuristic fashions. The students put on a highly professional show using local high school students as models. Intermission featured a fabulous performance by rap group, Beach 2 Da Beans. Several awards were handed out at the end of the evening, including Best in Show, Best Collection and Most Creative. These talented graduates are on the rise and several will be featured Emerging Designers on MyCloset.com.
