Pointy nails a.k.a. stiletto nails seem to be the new "thing" in Hollywood and beyond. Apparently the shape of the nail elongates the finger and enhances the beauty of the hands making them look more glamorous and dramatic. The pointy nails require a lot more maintenance than rounded or square shaped nails to keep the point sharp. Also if you decide to sport this look, be careful as the point is more likely to chip.
