– Camilla Staerk
She has long used glasses as a shortcut to her intellectual look and her models regularly wear specs. Staerk has even set up a line of 60s-style frames "to fulfill the total look." She sees them as an accessory.
With a 1st Class degree, Camilla's Graduate Show received critical acclaim on an International level and her garments instantly sold and the London boutique Browns focus and at Maria Luisa in Paris. The reaction to her dark romantic designs was fantastic with reviews appearing in several publications world wide such as WWD New York, Elle Paris, Sunday Times Style and Camilla was hailed 'a future star' by Vogue.
Elle magazine comments on camilla's work: "What danish designer Camilla Staerk can't do with a piece of leather ain't worth knowing!"
Camilla has seen a rise in her Brands Awareness within International territories with increasing editorial coverage and interest both from the general public as well as artists and celebrities such as PJ Harvey, Madonna, The Raveonettes, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Margot Stilley, Sarah Jessica Parker, Liv Tyler, Julianne Moore and Helena Christensen who buys up the collection for her New York shop, Butik, which opened in May 2005. Helena Christensen’s support of Camilla was honored during New York Fashion Week in February 2006, when she hosted the scheduled presentation of the Camilla Stærk Fall 06 collection at Butik, and again this February when Helena threw an a–list Fashion Week party to celebrate Camilla’s first New York catwalk show.
