teps away from Starbucks Global Headquarters in Seattle, a boutique group of stylish philanthropists reached out to children half way across the world by taking in Seattle’s first-ever, all-Barneys New York runway show.

Held in the industrially chic artists’ corridor known as SODO, the event was a first-time effort for FACE (Fashion, Art, Compassion, Event) to raise money for the group Sunflower Children, founded by fashion model and activist Helena Houdova.

Sending the message that it is very fashionable to give, a tiny sliver of the fashion community in Seattle helped raise $25,000 in just a few hours to help fund a school in Nepal, an orphanage in India, and a home for neglected children in South Africa.

Just minutes later, the crowd ahh-ed over the juxtaposition of shapes, fabrics, colors and layers of Fall 2008 and Winter 2009.
