or both men and women, we saw runway sets that featured the brightest of colors (some 80s neon), paired with subdued shades of earth tones and textures to produce an effect that was simultaneously nubby and sleek, rough yet feminine, and structured, yet loose.

Jackets and blazers ran the range from fitted to free flowing. Legs were covered in tights and bottomed out with short boots and sky-high pumps. Menswear channeled a “Beatles-just-off-the-plane-from-Liverpool” silhouette, combined with a little modern leather or cold-weather wool.

Style leaders seem to think that the idea of a mismatch, and the expectation of the unexpected, is something we can count on for seasons to come.
