Intrigue Couture

ntrigue Couture was founded by Barbara Portland, a former model who holds a degree in Fashion design and merchandising. She is current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Barbara is a native born Jamaican that was raised in the fashion-conscious city of New York. She first became interested in fashion while in high school where she began modeling for her school's fashion club. She admits that she loved it so much she decided to register with several agencies around the city. Although it was difficult for her to get booked for runway shows, her exotic good looks landed her several print jobs and major appearances in music videos. She also appeared in several local newspapers. But the highlight of her career was when she appeared on the cover of a local New York entertainment magazine, Raps. Although she eventually gave up modeling, Barbara was not ready to leave the world of fashion, so she decided to open her own boutique.

"Our first store opened in Ft. Lauderdale in 1993, since then we have consistently strengthened our customer base and have implemented strategies to keep ahead of the ever demanding consumer. Our focus is to expand our stores nationally, in addition, we hope to create, manufacture and distribute our own lines."
