Carmen Chameleon: Mixing It Up

Some of the best models can morph into many personas dictated by fashion designers with a quick change of clothes. Then there are those who generate a fierce individuality that transforms them into self-styled artists.

Carmen Hawk, who graced the runways of Europe a decade ago, had enough flair that Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani asked her to dress herself for a twenty plus page shoot. Photographer Craig McDean shot the spread and the two have a daughter, Ava, who lives with Carmen in LA.

For Carmen, who designs Jovovich-Hawk with Milla Jovovich, creativity springs eternal. And a version of their creations will appear in Target next May.

I have this need to reinvent myself all the time, definitely before every collection. Recently my whole thing has been I want everything to not match.
