aving graduated from Ft. Lauderdale Art Institute, Slavica Trifunoska started making unique designs by using unconventional threads to construct swimwear. She has received several awards such as “Future Designer”, “Best Couture Collection for 2004”, “Best Swimwear Collection for 2004”, and “Best Student Designed Collection”. Her designs were well received and she began to produce other pieces such as cover-ups, tunics and cocktail dresses. Initially she worked from home, selling her designs in local stores around South Florida. Business was going so well, the talented designer decided to open her own boutique. And thus Boutique Lavi was born.
