n the campus of the University of California at Berkeley (or just “Cal” since it’s the oldest school in the U.C. system), style is a mix of collegiate gear, preppy pieces, granola, grunge, new wave, and easy separates.

U.C. Berkeley is a big school with a big reputation, known as a nexus for free speech, academics, scientific exploration and the arts. Sproul Plaza was the center of the Free Speech Movement, which was a pivotal event for civil rights causes in the 60s.
Historically, this is the place where people do their “thing”…and aren’t afraid to express it.

So, on campus today, the art of dressing means exploring how to give one’s own personal style a “voice”…and still hit the books.
