gigantic tent sprawled on 39th Street, and 1st Court in the middle of the Design District housed the week’s events and a host of after parties. On display were the unique and ever evolving designs of emerging designers, artists and photographers. On and off the runway, the fashions were extraordinary. The new trends could be seen in the audience as well as the models on the catwalk. Prominent designers such as Custo Barcelona, Dragana Ognjenovic and Gustavo Cadile showed their wares to an enthusiastic crowd.

Each Spring and Fall Miami Fashion Week feature the best of the best of the local talent in and around South Florida. Miami's fashion scene is growing exponentially and the Design District is a coveted destination for fashionistas from around the world. The rich colors and lightweight fabrics can be worn year round. No need to cover up with a thick winter coat.

Designers were daring with designs that bared midriffs, flirted with ruffles, and showed off legs arms and bare shoulders. Bright, bold colors, prints, patterns and solids ruled the runway.

Miami has always been known for it's superior weather and beaches and not so much for fashion. But that has changed drastically over the past few years as more and more designers and photographers find beautiful backdrops to showcase their designs and creativity. Funkshion has always presented some of the most innovative and fresh fashions on the horizon and this year was no exception.
