he inaugural Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week (FFW) was a two-day fashion soirée built around luxury, glamour, and the essence of the Fort Lauderdale resort lifestyle. Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week presented by Ferrari Maserati-Ft. Lauderdale and sponsored by the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale took place in October 2010 at the luxurious W Fort Lauderdale Hotel.

The VIP Runway Reception showcasing eveningwear was held Friday, October 29, 2010 and featured high-end eveningwear and resort wear collections. The fashion show was headlined by world-renowned designer, Carolina Herrera, and local talented Art Institute of Ft Lauderdale alumni designers Rosita Hurtado, Eduardo de las Casas, Jacinta Ligon, and Elie Tahari.

The atmosphere was electric as the models strutted down the catwalk in show-stopping fashions to an excited crowd. This inaugural event was a smashing success. The fashions represented ranged front fabulous resortwear to elegant evening gowns and tuxedos to cocktail dresses to the extreme avante garde worthy of editorial praise.
