orn in Venezuela, Humberto fell in love with photography right after high school. Instead of asking for a watch or a car like most graduates, Humberto asked for a camera. And much to his delight he received one of the first Canon EOS cameras made. Since he traveled a lot he would take mostly travel photos and family gatherings. Unfortunately, Venezuela did not offer higher educational opportunities in the field of photography. Instead, he studied business and ended up with a Master's Degree in Computer Science which led to him working for 15 years in the airline industry and eventually he was transferred to the airline's headquarters which was located in France. Far from photography he also did a stint in the hotel management business as well.
An interesting turn of events ultimately led to Humberto's venture into photography. An unfortunate incident involving the kidnapping of his sister-in-law prompted a sudden move to the United States. By relocating, it allowed him to pursue his desire to study photography. He had his eyes set on either Parsons in New York or the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago. After the incident with his family member, he and his wife ended up in South Florida. The move actually gave him the opportunity to study at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. He had planned only to get a diploma through a nine month course, feeling that he was too old to start a complete program. Well, he liked it so much he ended up getting the Bachelor's Degree.

One of his first paid gigs was photographing a friend during her pregnancy. And eventually he had the opportunity to photograph a wedding in which the family was pleased and he earned a handsome fee. Humberto soon realized that photography was a way to make a living doing something he loved. During his coursework at the Art Institute he stumbled upon a fashion photography class. It must have been fate because he believed he found his calling. He fell in love with photographing fashion and is now one of the premiere fashion photographers in South Florida.

He has been honored as one of 100 Best Emerging Photographers of 2009 and his work can be seen in several magazines.
