MLP: I’M A NEW YORKER SO I DON’T TRY TO LOOK TO FROU FROU. I LIKE THE NEW YORK DESIGNERS. CHAIKEN. CAROLINA HERRERA. I TEND TO LIKE THINGS THAT AREN’T TOO SEQUINED AND FROU FROU.

MyCloset: What are some pieces from your own closet with which you would never part?

MLP: PROBABLY THESE WHITE SUEDE CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN HIGH HEELS. THEY ARE SUEDE, HIGH HEELED, POINTY TOES. AND I HAVE A LONG BLACK GUCCI COAT THAT IS ALL SEQUINS THAT I LOVE. I HAVE A LOT OF GUCCI COATS. I DON’T KNOW…PROBABLY NONE OF MY GUCCI COATS. I JUST THINK THEY ARE PRETTY.

MyCloset: What do you need to get rid of?

MLP: I’D GET RID OF IT IF I DON’T WEAR IT ANYMORE.

MyCloset: Biggest fashion faux pas?

MLP: GOING OUT WITH BABY VOMIT ON MYSELF PROBABLY.

MyCloset: How do you like to dress the baby?

MLP: HE’S NOT REALLY A BABY ANY MORE; HE LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE MAN. I LET HIM HELP ME PICK THEM OUT. WHATEVER IS WARM, COMFORTABLE AND SOFT. HE WEARS A LOT OF JEANS. HE’S A BOY.

CN: THE CLOTHES ARE ROMANTIC. THEY FLOW, MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WEIGH ABOUT TWO OUNCES AND YOU ARE ON A CLOUD.

CN: I HAVE A LOT OF DONNA KARAN, DIANE VON FURSTENBERG, AND MARC JACOBS. THEY DESIGN NOT SO MUCH FOR THE MODELS BUT FOR THE WOMEN WHO ARE GOING TO BE WEARING THEM.

MyCloset: When you edit your own closet, do you have a rule for getting rid of things?

CN: IT’S PROBABLY A GOOD RULE TO GET RID OF THINGS EACH YEAR, BUT I JUST TRY EVERY SO OFTEN TO GO THROUGH IT AND SAY, DOES THIS REALLY LOOK GOOD? REALISTICALLY, AM I EVER GOING TO WEAR IT, HAVE I EVER WORN IT?
