When you travel, what kinds of things do you shop for?

I SHOP IN SMALL BOUTIQUES THAT HAVE ONE OF A KIND PIECES, AND IT’S AN EXTRA PLUS WHEN I CAN MEET OTHER DESIGNERS THAT DO WHAT I DO. I TRY TO HELP THEM BY BUYING FROM THEM. I WANT TO KEEP THE DESIGN COMMUNITY ALIVE, BECAUSE THERE’S SO MUCH MASS PRODUCTION.

If you could try any profession in the world – for one day – what would it be? (And what would your wardrobe look like for that?)

I WOULD WANT A JOB THAT ALLOWS ME TO TRAVEL, BUT NOT A FLIGHT ATTENDANT. I’D WANT TO BE AN EXPLORER, LIKE MARCO POLO. I WANT TO DISCOVER. I WOULD WEAR MORE KNITS AND LAYERS FOR THE WEATHER.

Where have you traveled in the world – just for the shopping?

I LOVE SHOPPING IN FLORENCE. THAT’S WHERE I CAN FIND THE BOUTIQUES THAT ARE 500 SQUARE FEET, WITH JEWELS YOU CAN PICK OUT. I LIKE THE FIT OF ITALIAN CUTS.

What part of a body has to look good – no matter what you’re wearing?

YOUR FEET. YOUR SHOES. THAT FINISHES IT. IT’S NOT FINISHED UNLESS THAT’S DONE RIGHT.

If you could wear one thing everyday, what would it be?

I WOULD WEAR KNITS EVERYDAY. THEY ALLOW ME TO BE FLEXIBLE AND MOVE…DO FITTINGS..UP AND DOWN. THEY ARE COMFORTABLE AND STYLISH.

When I'm low on energy, I wear red. Stronger colors lift energy.
