'Fall' Into Fashion
As I write this, a tropical storm is knocking on my door, windows and roof, but the only thing on my mind is “FALL”. Rust, burgundy and hue of blue is revolving in my mind while pale peach, beiges and soft grey have put a veil in front of my eyes.
Volume, length, oversized coats, menswear, ultra feminine and minimalism; this Fall season will see an array of style, which can be 'mix and match' or 'go solo'... just remember to add your own personal touch.
TOP TRENDS FOR FALL
Oversized cocoon coats: Cocoon style coats are actually a vintage style that have made a comeback this Fall. Check out the bright orange-ing skirts yellow illustration by Georges Lepape from ‘Survey of Historic Costume’ book (French, 1887-1971). -I am in love with these new cocoon coats. Pair them up with some bright colored leggings and cool boots. Structure: Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than a little black dress. Letting you shine effortlessly, the little black dress is the ultimate canvas to build upon-for all seasons. -I am loving the little black dress from Balenciaga, also noteable, Katy Rodriquez added the structure sleeve to a minimalist dress. Gorgeous!! Artist stroke: With this look one would wonder if it was a paint spill or careful brushstroke. These vibrant water colors can be splashes of paint or humongous orchids and flowers. - After all, designers are artists. Ruffles and Bows: Sweet and romantic, we are dragging these beauties from Spring to Fall. Blouses with bellowing bows peaking from the jacket collar add the perfect power and feminine touch for the office. -There is nothing as romantic or flirty as a ruffle, and this season fall felt more like spring with tiered ruffles on the frocks. Boyfriend’s closet: This season, designers kicked it up a notch; a boyish jacket with a flirty skirt and cinched waist, the look is just as cool if worn with a trouser, or a high waisted wide leg pants. - There is something so sexy about a girl in her boyfriend’s shirt. Superhero: Maybe it’s all the superhero movies that have finally influenced the designers to reinvent a whole new criteria in women wear. -I absolutely love this powerful, mysterious and sexy look. Flower power and foliage: Floral prints in fall? Absolutely. Floral prints are perfect for a gloomy November evening: just like the ‘designer' ordered. - There is nothing more feminine and uplifting than a floral print dress.
Other Fall trends:
Minimalist: Clean lines have always been a trademark of Calvin Klein. For this Fall, we also saw designers like Narciso Rodriguez and Prada embracing the neutral hue with clean feel and simplicity. Tweed: There is something timeless, classic and chic about a tweed suit; update a tweed jacket with a colorful accessory or painted blouse. Chunky Knits: Oversized and chunky sweaters are again in style for this Fall. There is nothing more cozy and comforting than cashmere wool, sleeveless sweaters and roomy ponchos. Length: The maxi is back. Long dresses and floor sweeping skirts were all over the runway; the look was layered and paired with boots, naturally. This fall season has so much to offer; from the color choices which range from whites, grays and blacks to pastels and vibrant colors. While the silhouette is just as much fun to explore, if you don’t like slouchy oversized clothes, try a fitted jacket or perhaps a flirty skirt. Whatever it is, play with your own personal style. Like I always say to my clients, “You are never more mysterious and beautiful than you are as yourself.” --Sanjeeda Check out Sanjeeda’s Designer’s and Personal Closet….
