con was created on the 9th of January 2008, as an experiment by Jyoti Peswani a.k.a. Jo, who decided to give a forum for students of the Current Topics in Fashion Marketing class. Initially, she tried to teach the class by teaching the students writing techniques which didn't work very well. The students were not interested in journalism. After much thought and research, Jo decided to turn things around and run the class like a magazine.
Icon’s niche is fresh minds, fresher perspectives on fashion. Local businesses, local colleges, home-grown designers, the synergies Icon can establish are endless.
