t was a natural progression that led to the creation of Icon Magazine. Since the fashion students have to take a styling class, they had a clue about what works and what doesn’t and they also had to learn about Graphic Communication in Fashion. Since these were merchandising students, they are totally clued in on every season’s trends and colors. Considering all these factors, it was only a matter of time that someone provided the students a platform to integrate all this know-how and express it in a way that’s creative and unique. Jo’s editorial experience with two local magazines had equipped her with contacts and expertise, so even though this class tripled her work, she has big plans for the magazine.

Fortunately, the first batch of students took to this very well and helped her build on the idea. Icon would not be possible without the invaluable guidance of Mr. Andres Milman – the Graphic and Web Director of Icon. Jo’s class produces articles and Mr. Milman’s class provides the layout and he himself looks into the web posting of the magazine on the AIFL FASHION BLOG. http://aiflfashionclub.wordpress.com
