What’s your current fashion state of mind?

CG: MY AESTHETIC IS DIFFERENT THAN LIBERTINE. I’M A LITTLE MORE MODERN, WHEREAS LIBERTINE IS CLASSIC WITH CONTRAST. WE TAKE SOMETHING CONSERVATIVE, DEFACE IT WITH A SKULL OR PAINT SOMETHING MACABRE.
MY LOOK WOULD BE A GOOD PAIR OF YSL BOOTS OR MATCHING PUMPS WITH A SIMPLE A LINE DRESS. I’M NOT ONE OF THESE BRAND WHORES. I DON’T BUY LABELS FOR LABELS. IF YOU FIND A HIDEOUS PAIR OF UNGARO TROUSER, WHO CARES?

What era would you bring back?

CG: MID TO LATE NINETIES, A TIME OF EXPERIMENTATION. A BIT IRONIC AND CLASSY.

Any favorite patterns?

CG: I LOVE LEOPARD PRINT, BUT I DON’T KNOW HOW TO WEAR IT. IT WALKS THE LINE BETWEEN TACKY AND CHIC. IN THE 80’S I REMEMBER THE VIDEO “THRILLER.” THE GIRL WORE A PAIR OF JEANS IN LEOPARD PRINT. I FOUND THE JEANS IN DENIM AND DARK BLUE LEOPARD. I PAID $29 AND I WORE THEM WITH A RED TEE SHIRT. I DON’T LIKE RED THAT MUCH, BUT I DO WITH BLACK AND BLUE.

Name an actor/singer/celebrity whose wardrobe you admire the most. Who was it at sixteen, twenty, twenty-five, now?

CG: SIXTEEN- LISA BONET TWENTY - TOUGH ONE, CINDY LAUPER MEETS COURTNEY LOVE. MID TWENTIES – MY MID TWENTIES ARE A BLUR. NOW-CHLOE SEVIGNY (I KNOW IT'S AN EASY ONE BUT WHO CAN DENY IT?)

What has been your biggest fashion faux pas?

CG: I CAN’T REMEMBER, BUT I SAW ONE THAT BLEW MY MIND. I WENT TO A WEDDING PARTY AT WES CRAVEN’S HOUSE AND MY FRIEND AARON ROSE WORE A RED AND BLACK STRIPED SWEATER AND A BLACK FEDORA.

How did Fischerspooner influence your style?

CG: FISCHERSPOONER GAVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK TWO STYLES. CASUAL
TOUR BUS PRACTICAL LOOKS. THAT’S WHERE THE JEANS AND ARMY JACKET
CAME IN. THEN AFTER THE SHOWS WE HAD AFTER PARTIES AND LIZZY AND
I COMPETED TO SEE WHO COULD TURN OUT A MORE GLAMOROUS LOOK. IT WAS A GREAT MOTIVATOR.

I love leopard print, but I don’t know how to wear it. It walks the line between tacky and chic.
